The New Target Man for the Tigers!

GBA: How does it feel to finally know where you're going to play college soccer?

RM: You can only make the decision once, so it is so crucial to find a college that truly fits you. Now that I have, I’m so relieved and ready to work even harder than I already have been.

GBA: Tell us, what would you say is the toughest part of the whole recruiting process?

RM: The toughest part is actually making that final decision, and having the decision weigh on your conscience as you’re still deciding.

GBA: What excites you the most about RIT Men’s Soccer Program?

RM: I think that the future is bright at RIT. When I went on my visit, I saw a talented group of guys and I could see the drive to improve even from one training session and that’s really exciting. Also, they’re building a brand new stadium at RIT, which I look forward to scoring goals in.

GBA: If you could advise the younger players who dream of playing College Soccer, what would you tell them about the whole recruiting process?

RM: I would tell them that it can be difficult and that’s ok, because as long as you keep going, you will find your place in the end. It’s better to choke on greatness than it is to starve on mediocrity, so keep pushing for your dream. Also, keep your grades up, it’ll help big time.

GBA: What was it like to work with GBA during your college search?

RM: I would actually say that if it wasn’t for GBA I wouldn’t be in this position. Many phone calls and emails were made, which helped tremendously. Because of GBA, I’m able to fly across the country to go play college soccer at an excellent institution. Not only were the connections great, but GBA believes in you as a footballer and a human being. I couldn’t thank GBA enough.

GBA: What are your plans from now until you report for preseason in August of '24?

RM: I’ll be playing USL Academy with FC Tucson throughout the summer, and I’ll also be preparing with my ECNL team for nationals this summer.

Roman is a player that is an absolute specialist. Like Erling Haaland, he is an absolute goal getter!! It's been very interesting to see who would win the sweepstakes in getting this goal machine to their program and RIT are the beneficiaries. This Fall will be exciting to keep track of how many goals Big Rom scores in his first collegiate season. Congratulations again Roman, you've earned this great opportunity!
